Muhammad ibn Salih al-Uthaymeen
Muhammad ibn Salih al-Uthaymeen (1347–1421 AH / 1929–2001) was born in Unayzah. He grew up in worship and study, memorised the Qur’an as a boy, and sat with the scholars of his town while he was still young.

Muhammad ibn Salih al-Uthaymeen (1347–1421 AH / 1929–2001) was born in Unayzah. He grew up in worship and study, memorised the Qur’an as a boy, and sat with the scholars of his town while he was still young.
His principal teacher was Abd al-Rahman al-Sa'di, with whom he studied tafsir, fiqh, ʿaqeedah, and Arabic. He later took knowledge from Ibn Baz and remained in his scholarly company.
He taught in Unayzah from the 1950s until illness at the end of his life. His explanations of Kitab al-Tawhid, Riyadh al-Salihin, al-Usul al-Thalatha, and al-Mumti' became teaching texts.
In 1986 he was appointed to the Council of Senior Scholars. His Nur ala al-Darb answers and mosque recordings spread by tape and print. He died in Jeddah on 10 January 2001 / 15 Shawwal 1421, رحمه الله.

Legacy
His explanations remain among the most used teaching texts of contemporary Hanbali Athari study. Qawl keeps the audio and the official source text together so a listener can follow the lesson without losing the citation.
